Walks and Talks: Wednesday, May 9 - EXCLUSIVE TOUR of Milltown We held a FREE, exclusive tour of the remarkable restoration project at Milltown as part of our Walks and Talks series in May. Participants walked alongside the newly-restored confluence of the Clark Fork and Blackfoot rivers, heard the history of the cleanup and dam removal, and got the latest on plans for the new state park. Mike Kustudia from MT Fish, Wildlife, and Parks and Amy Sacry from Geum Environmental Consultants served as tour guides and local experts.

We're keeping members and interested citizens up-to-speed on hot topics and happenings in the Clark Fork watershed through our new "Walks and Talks" series. Join us on the second Wednesday of every month from 12 to 1pm for tours, workshops, lectures, and hands-on activities!
Have you been wondering what's going on out at Milltown these past few months? The Natural Resource Damage Program is opening the site to Walk & Talk participants only for a one-hour tour of the project. Learn about current restoration projects, future plans for the site and about the environmental science behind the management of this area. Meet at the Clark Fork Coalition offices at 11:30 to carpool to Milltown, or meet at the confluence at 12 noon using these directions: Directions to confluence: From Eastgate Shopping Center / Hwy. 200 in Missoula: Go east on Hwy. 200 through East Missoula towards Bonner, turn right onto Tamarack Road then go under I-90, Tamarack becomes Juniper Drive, follow Juniper to Milltown Dam. Estimated time and distance: 10 minutes and less than 5 miles. June 13, 2012: Water Wise Garden Workshops CFC & MUD team up to bring you a workshop series dedicated to sustainable, water-wise gardening. Join CFC on Wednesday, June 13 for a tour of Missoula's own water wise garden to learn more about how these gardens function, and how you can create a rain garden of your own. Meet at the Missoula Water Wise Garden located behind the Missoulian on the Riverfront Trail System, between the Higgins and Madison St. bridges. Pack a lunch to picnic with us in the garden after the workshop. And, come back on June 20th for MUD's rain barrel workshop, where you will learn how to create a rain barrel to use in your own garden.
