Join the Green Mountain Conservation District, Clark Fork Coalition, Avista, Sanders County EWM Task Force, and the Lower Clark Fork Watershed Group for "Living Near Water." This $25 4-credit course will provide real estate professionals with information, tools, and resources to help them maximize the value of streamside property.

Course Overview:

The purpose of this course is to provide real estate professionals in Sanders, Lincoln, Mineral, and Flathead Counties with tools and resources that help them understand the opportunities and responsibilities associated with waterfront property, and provide that information to waterfront property owners.  Participants will learn answers to questions like: What financial resources are available to help property owners care for waterfront property?  What permits might be necessary to change property near streams?  How can property owners avoid challenges like erosion, floods, or aquatic weed infestations?

Real estate professionals equipped with these answers can help their clients make sound decisions about how to maximize the incredible value of waterfront properties.  Course attendees will learn how to recognize healthy riparian areas as well as identify signs of potential problems.  They will learn the assets and liabilities associated with streamside living.   Perhaps most importantly, real estate professionals will learn about the numerous sources of tools, resources, and assistance available for waterfront landowners in order to better transfer this information to clients.
